AstroAvenger is split into 5 worlds (galaxies), each with 10 levels (a total of fifty). As the player moves on, their opponents become more dangerous and deadly, before they finally encounter “World Boss”.
The player gets in-game currency for each destroyed enemy spaceship. With this money, they can turn their rather average spaceship into a space fortress. They can buy power-ups for their weapons and replace old weapon systems by new ones. Likewise, they can upgrade their armor and batteries (which is essential, since each laser blast or plasma shot consumes quite a bit of energy). Rockets and bombs act as backup weapons when situations become dire.
To be successful in AstroAvenger, one must plan carefully and conserve resources. Coming up with a right spaceship improvement strategy can save a lot of troubles later on in the game. Likewise, making a mistake in the very beginning may make finishing the game nearly impossible.
AstroAvenger does not contain viruses.
